Senior portraits with horse and dog, Canandigua Academy

Sara has loved horses since she was a little girl. Now she competes in barrel races and has three horses at home on their family farm! They also have several dogs and cats. And with all of those animals, their home still felt so peaceful. I loved spending time with Sara, Becky (mom), Max (horse) and Charley (dog) before we headed to Canandaigua Lake to wrap up the session there.

I had so much fun with this super sweet family!

And to top it all off - a sunset to die for! I just loved this session. Enjoy, and what are you waiting for? Schedule your unique at home senior portraits now!

Fairport NY Candid Family Pictures: Lollypop Farm and Playground Fun

Goats, horses, pigs AND a playground? What a fun combo!

Our membership events are in full swing (no pun intended, just a nice coincidence). And this month we visited Lollypop Farms in Fairport with the littles in our membership program.

One of the truly beautiful aspects of this program is that there's no pressure. Letting the kids be kids is exactly what this is all about. Exploring, playing, climbing, swinging, laughing, being goofy with goats, slides and with you.

It's so much fun for us to capture. With no pressure to get "the perfect shot", we can get some amazing smiles in photographs - some that you'd never expect to get anywhere else.

And all by just letting the kids be themselves.

Spotlight on a Local Business: Eastside Fence Inc

Erin and I love to support other local, small businesses like ours. We are active members of the FPMA, but more than that, we put our money where our mouth is and shop local as often as we can!

We recently completed a rather large home improvement project... replacing our aging and damaged fence. After asking around for referrals, a common name kept surfacing: Eastside Fence, based right here in Fairport. In fact, owner Bob Coyle and his wife live less than 2 miles away. It doesn't get more local than that!

While they were here, I documented the process before, during and after. If you are looking for a quality fence from friendly contractors, I highly recommend Bob and Eastside Fence Inc. Thank you to the whole crew who did such a nice job!

Molley and Mouse's Maine Adventure!

Hi all, Lori here!
If you know me at all, you know I love to travel basically any chance I get! I am always in search of pretty things. For me that usually means nature and water. My husband loves to climb things, so he prefers mountains. Well, this trip to Maine was a win for both of us!

And it was a unique one, as we brought the dogs. It was our first time leaving the state with them, and I have to say – they did amazing. I can see it happening again. Also, Maine is an incredibly dog friendly state, Acadia National Park in particular.

I won't bore you with the details, I know you are just here to see pretty pictures! But here are the highlights of the trip:

-Climbing some rocky trails in Acadia National Park
-Enjoying the amazing views from said trails
-Eating popovers, fresh seafood, and drinking local beers
-Foggy boat ride out of Bar Harbor
-Seeing friends in both MA and ME
-All of the friendly people we met on the trails!
-Having the dogs with us and experiencing all the love they got from basically everyone we saw
-Allagash Brewery Tour in Portland

This trip crossed off state #32 for me, and brought Molley and Mouse up to 4! Well, Mouse is from Georgia, so I guess she technically has more, but they weren't with us... so I'm not counting them. :)

I highly recommend Acadia and would definitely go back! Hope you enjoy a few views from our travels!

Harley School Senior Photos: Allison

Allison recently walked across the stage to receive her diploma from the Harley School. But before she did, we created some portraits around campus and at the Public Market. Having practiced fencing for 7 years, it was a no brainer to include some shots in uniform! It was a windy day, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely and the photos came out fantastic. See for yourself!

Congratulations Allison!

Cobblestone Family Portraits: Victor Photographer

Their perfect Saturday is spent in the backyard, and it's easy to see why.

My neighbor recently told me that the backyard is our oasis, and this family sure had that. A pool, and playground and even a putting green (put in by the previous owners).

The three kids seemed ready to jump in as soon as word was given. We made a few family portraits in their favorite space, and then let the kids splash in the pool as their reward. Lots of fun with a super sweet group. Here's a little peek, enjoy!

Rochester NY Photographers: K Family at Home

It's pretty cool to be a part of someone's entire life. Before Sarah was born, we photographed her parent's wedding. We celebrated when she arrived and again a few months later.

Now, there are lots of changes going on for Natalie and Dan. A new house, a new bun in the oven, and little Sarah turned two. It was my pleasure to be one of the first to see the new house, and watch as Sarah got to explore her backyard for the first time. This little cutie is a bundle of energy.

Dan, Natalie, it's always a pleasure. Thank you for being amazing human beings.

A Hero To Look Up To: Father's Day 2016

It's Father's Day - time for some golf and barbecues. Or for hikes and picnics. Or for Marvel Movies and popcorn. Your description might be different - but the sentiment is the same.

Today's the day, I pretend I'm going to cook for my husband (instead of our usual vice versa) - when really, I might buy the ingredients but I won't touch the grill. And we'll spend time with our own Father's, who we're so blessed to have in our lives.

And whether I cook or not, I hope my husband knows how grateful I am for him. For so many reasons, but least of all because he gives my son someone to look up to.

In between tickles and "airplane" rides, I see how he watches Daddy - wide eyed, wanting already to be big like him. I watch as he and Daddy bond over Star Wars books and Super Heroes. Even though he still looks nothing like Daddy, I know they're a perfect fit.

My son clearly doesn't live in a perfect world - this is obvious. So I'm grateful for his Daddy, who gives him a super hero to look up to, and who says "I love you" on a regular basis. Because that's the man I want my son to be in this world...just like his Daddy.

Happy Father's Day!

Families in Victor NY: Portrait Sessions at Home

Susan and Brian are very peaceful people. They have a meditation area set up in their spacious backyard, a vegetable garden and a very mellow golden retriever who likes to lay by the piano. I really enjoyed my time with them, creating images for Cobblestone Living magazine. I especially loved when Roxy joined Susan for some quiet mediation. So cute! Check them out, and say hi if you see Susan and Brian out and about!

Business Branding Portraits: Rochester NY Photographers

Commercial portraiture isn't something we do every day, but we get the opportunity every once in awhile. When we do, It's fun to come up with different ideas for businesses like S&T Bank to use in their marketing materials.

We've visited this office on a few occasions now to work on different portrait options. This time, they wanted to incorporate the atmosphere of their downtown office location. With great exposed brick walls to use, their downtown Rochester location provided the right atmosphere for their needs.

Looking for ways to show off your business and it's great people regularly? Get in touch, let's talk!

Three Generations Portrait Session: Lori's family

We used to have a tradition in our family called the Mother's Day wine tour. It is exactly what it sounds like. Both my and my husband's families would come together to tour and sample in the Finger Lakes. I think we were on about 6 years straight maybe?  Well this year both our mom's were traveling on Mother's Day, so that didn't work out. Instead, I came up with two different photo gifts for each of them.

For my mom and grandma, I planned a girls only photo session. We all had significant birthdays this year, and it was something I had been thinking about for a while. I wanted to celebrate the women in my life with a special portrait, and hired my good friend Linda of Hayes Photography to help. She created a variety of images of us in a short period of time. They have that homey feeling and love... What more could you ask for?

For my mother-in-law, I created an interactive book with photos of all her grandchildren. I then sent it to the 3 siblings with kids and they each answered questions about grandma. What is grandma's favorite thing to do? Make dinner, according to two year old Dempsey. 7 year old Audrey would buy her a plane as a gift, and Elise would give a globe. The final product is the perfect blend of adorable and personal.

Coming up with unique gifts can be tricky, but I'm really proud of these ones and know they will both be treasures.

To my family reading this, I love you!

To Linda, thank you for making the drive and making the session special!

To everyone else, I hope I have given you some ideas to use in the future. Just let me know if I can help.

Cheers! -Lori
