Christmas Through My Child's Eyes

When I took this image, I didn't see it at first. I was so focused on my 365 project and making sure that I had something to show from that evening, that I almost missed it. I didn't really see the wonder on my son's face as he gazed upon the fully lit Christmas tree in front of him.

It wasn't until I shared the image on social media, that I began to see what it meant to people. I received comments and messages thanking me for it, or telling me that it should be a Hallmark card. I never meant for that to happen. At the time, I was just being a parent like any other at the tree lighting, shooting like a Mom, recording these moments in time as they happen. I took this image for me, and for him. It's a happy accident that it resonated with so many people, but it was never my intent.

I didn't see it then. But now I do. Right now, to him magic is possible and everywhere. Faith and believing in something, still new and real. In his eyes, innocence. What I wouldn't give to be able to see the world again the way that he does.

I am so thankful now to have this image and more grateful for the child within it each and every day. He reminds me that anything is possible. He reminds me to be a better person. His light and love are my true Christmas gifts this year.

I hope that this Christmas you're reminded of how beautiful and magical this life of ours can be. We wish you joy and love through the holidays and beyond. Merry Christmas!

With grateful hearts,

Erin & Lori

Hunter | Hilton High School Senior Pictures

I remember the first time I met my cousin, Hunter, pretty vividly. Because he peed on me. To be fair to him, he was also a newborn and I was a teenager. So I'm fairly certain it wasn't intentional.

Flash forward a few years to now. He's now taller and bigger than I am, and graduating from Hilton High School this year. It's just another moment in my life where I can't believe how fast time has gone by.

Hunter, is a fun, funny guy and also an avid goose/duck hunter - (insert bad pun drum and cymbal here). He loves this time of year, when the weather changes and he can get out in the woods. So naturally, he wanted a location that fit him - cattails and all. We also included his hunting hobby with his camo and gun.

Even though Hunter was a little timid about his senior session, he really did a fantastic job. And I love how everything about these images fit him so well.

Congratulations Hunter, we're so proud of you! Enjoy your senior year! ~ Erin

Honeoye Falls Senior Photos: Hannah

When I first met Hannah, she told me she was looking for something different. She didn't want "normal" senior photos. We were happy to oblige that request!

One of the places she enjoys is the Public Market. Well, the location certainly fit! We went on a day the market wasn't open, and wow are there opportunities! Graffiti, architecture, and texture galore! It's an awesome place and Hannah's an awesome girl! We even got mom involved for some photos, and of course, the dogs too! Such a fun session, thanks Hannah!

Enjoy!

Fun with Family Portraits: Fairport NY Portrait Session

Fall days don't come much nicer than this! It was a cool morning, but the colors were vibrant and the leaves perfectly placed. Beth, Tom, Sam and Miley were coordinated and relaxed.

I was very impressed with their dog Miley, she is much better trained than my dogs and that made it so easy to work with her! Sam brought his football for some casual pictures, and we ended up with many great images. Thanks for choosing Lori and Erin Photography and we hope to see you again soon! Enjoy!

Halloween with the Colemans : Family Pictures

Are you ready for some insanely adorable? Well it's coming your way!

This fall, we made a special trip to Syracuse to capture these 4 kiddos and their families. We started at a cool park with lots of amazing colors. Flynn and Clara loved playing in the leaves and watching the squirrels run around like crazy.

After a quick lunch break, we drove over to the an apple farm to meet up with their cousins, Landon and Dempsey. The boys were super sweet, and enjoyed running up and down the rows, playing on the bridges and throwing rocks in the pond. Since it was Halloween, they popped into their costumes for a few quick shots before the quest for candy.

I'm so glad to have Captain America and Iron Man in my corner! Love you all,
-Aunt Lori

Lima Christian Senior Pictures, Cobbs Hill, Mendon Ponds

I knew there was something special about Lindsey. She just oozed a very welcoming personality. Her goal for the session? To make ME smile. Can you believe that? Well, she succeeded, because her gorgeous attitude was indeed infectious.

Lindsey is currently attending Lima Christian School, and plans to attend the Bible Institute next year before going to college. She brought her bible and some favorite books to her session before getting serious in her soccer jersey. And that dog? Do they get any cuter? We always love to include pets, and Jake was no exception.

Well, before I rattle on all day, check out a few of our favorites from Cobbs Hill Reservoir and Mendon Ponds Park.

Rochester Newborn Photography at Home

Little T made a slightly early debut, which sometimes happens as babies are always unpredictable. But he is so cute, and so cuddly that I don't think anyone minds one bit. We are so so so excited that he's here, and adding some new feet to Mommy and Daddy's crew of two pups and a cat (who avoided us and the cameras on our visit).

From his little yawns, to little cries he's already got us wrapped around his little fingers. We are excited to watch him grow and change into one of the cutest kids we know.

Congratulations, Rowan, Kevin, Roxy, Kinsey and Pippa on your newest little addition. And welcome to the world Theo!

McQuaid Senior Portraits: Jack & Family

Jack is a soon-to-be McQuaid graduate. He's a rower on the crew team and an all around good guy. We photographed his high school senior session at the Boat House at Genesee Valley Park. We hung around the docks, on the path and even went inside the boathouse for a few.

What made this session different, was the addition of his mom, dad, and sister into the photographs too. We took a little bit time to create some family portraits for them as well. Jack heads off to college soon, so this was the perfect day to have their family picture updated as well. As the sun went down on the river, the light was perfect for some great images.

Congratulations Jack, and thanks for a great waterfront session! ~ Lori & Erin

Brighton High School Senior Pictures: Daniel

We asked Daniel to describe his perfect selfie - he responded with "I am on top of Mount Fuji, in a hot tub with some diamonds and explosions in the background."

Well played Daniel, well played. From the answers he gave, we knew his session would be nothing short of entertaining. We've photographed him before with his family, so we know that Daniel is definitely a fun guy to be around!

We laughed a lot, and his session went smoothly. We even got some great shots with their dog, Kojo, a big loveable best friend. Oh, and we got a little goofy on a tricycle... there's nothing wrong with having a little fun on the job, right?!

Daniel, while we didn't get your Mount Fuji request in, we definitely had a blast with you. Have a great senior year! ~ Lori and Erin

365 Project in November: Rochester NY Photographer

November or rather for me, I'm renaming this month "Thanksgiving." Why? Well, because nearly every weekend in November, I had a Thanksgiving gathering of some kind.

In total, I had 6 different "Thanksgivings" - yes, 6. Yes, that's a lot of eating. Yes, it was delicious. and yes, I need bigger jeans. However, just because it was labeled "Thanksgiving" doesn't mean we ate 6 different turkeys. We had turkey, pork roast, pasta, lasagna, leftovers, pie, more pie, cake, wine...you name it.

What matters more, was the who I spent 6 Thanksgivings with. Each event was a different set of people. Some repeats are among the mix for various reasons. But whether friend or family they all hold a very important place in my heart.

At this time of year, I'm even more grateful for all of these people. Honestly, words don't do it justice. Here's a look back on the 365 project from November, including my 6 Thanksgiving dinners! Only one more month to go! ~ Erin

Five years together: Our Anniversary Portraits

Nearly 11 years ago, John and I first met inside one of these brick buildings. RIT played such a huge roll in our dating lives, in fact all of our dating. It was just days after I graduated that John proposed and we became "fiancés". Now that we've been married for 5 years, I wanted to celebrate where we are now as a family, with 2 fur babies, at the place where it all started.

My favorite from this set of images, captured by who other than the amazing Erin Perrotta, is the first one below-left. That's us, our little family, in front of our freshman year dorms. The session was so much fun. Walking around with two dogs on campus, we had some students come pet Molley and Mouse and say how much they missed their dogs. If only we could have had pets in the dorms...

We hit up a few spots on the residential side of campus, and ended at the field house. How nice of them to paint "We ❤︎ our Alumni" just for us! After Erin left, we continued walking and exploring the academic side of campus. John hadn't been back in years, so we reminisced over what was the same, and oogled at all the new buildings. We especially love the Global Village area with all of the new restaurants and outdoor seating.

We ended the night watching Mouse try to drink from one of the pulsing fountains. That's a mental picture I won't soon forget!

In the end, it's a really lovely memory: walking campus with the man I love and my two furry loves. And thanks to Erin, we have photos to remember it by. Happy anniversary love, here's to the next 5 years!

Gananda High School Senior Pictures: Marisa

Marisa is new to the area, so we discussed many possible locations for her session. We ended up with Webster Park because of its easy access to the water and also the woods.

But really, her eyes would have sparkled anywhere! Marisa rocked all of outfits she brought, from a dress to jeans. If you ask me, she really knocked it out of the park! Here are a few of my favorites.

Welcome to the area Marisa, hope you enjoy it here!
