Winter Family Session : Victor NY

I love being a part of making beautiful portraits for families. I love it even more when the family I'm photographing was a former wedding couple of ours. Being there when the family grows is so exciting and really means the world to us.

This cutie was a little shy at first, but by the end of our time we were having a tea party together. I never mind a good cup of tea prepared by a toddler with a Fisher Price tea kettle. That's an opportunity you just don't pass up.

I can't wait to watch her grow - and now that they've joined our fun, new membership program we get to be there as she does! Here's a peek at our first of many fun sessions together.

Paul and Stephanie, featuring Row! Rochester NY Portrait Sessions

I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty excited to meet Row! Isn't she adorable? She's also soft and sweet. And of yeah, of course I wanted to see Paul and Steph again, too. :)

I've known Paul and Steph... hmm, maybe 8 years or so? We met at RIT where Steph now works as an advisor to photo students. (Small world, huh?) Paul is busy conquering the world of Mobile Apps creating with his many online education initiatives. Check out some of his work here:

We met up at one of their favorite places, Joe Bean Coffee Roasters, for a few photos before taking Row to the park for their holiday portraits. It was certainly an adventure, as Row wanted to say "hi" to every dog she saw, but it was a lot of fun and we laughed our way through it all.

I'm really excited about what we're putting together for their wall. A collage of 3 images on metal... it's going to look amazing!

Until next time,

Lori

Innovation Field and Public Market High School Senior Portraits

We love making every session we photograph relate to our clients loves. That holds true even with our high school seniors. Teartiyana, or as we now call her, T, was SO much fun to photograph. She LOVES the Rochester Red Wings. So naturally, we were excited, when we learned we were getting Frontier Field to ourselves for her senior session!

From the suites to the dugout, we took advantage of all of the opportunities to knock T's senior portraits out of the park. Yes, I realize that was a terrible joke, but c'mon it was there and just begging for me to say it.

After we finished at the park, we rounded out her session at the Public Market where the murals and the architecture fit her personality perfectly. We even got some really cute pictures with her dog, Seymour, on the field and at the market.

Teartiyana, we had so much fun with you! Enjoy the rest of your senior year!

Sledding Fun: Fairport NY Photographers

So, the day we had our first Member Event of 2016 it was COLD. Like, 17 degrees, but it felt like 3 degrees cold. Needless to say, my flip flops did not apply here.

Me, I much prefer hibernation to most things having to do with snow and cold - but I had fun with a few other brave souls who stopped in to sled with us. For the few minutes we were out there, we had fun!

We plan on having multiple events throughout the year (most of them much, much warmer) as part of our brand new Membership program. Our members will receive these images to keep, in a great book at the end of the year, as well as digitally.

We're SO excited to talk about this program. We have everything from zoo trips, to picnics, and Halloween costume parties planned! None of which, will require snow or seven layers of clothing to participate!

There's more perks to being a member, I've only just scratched the surface here. And we want to share the deets with you - so please, ask!

Until next time, here's a few of the images from our adventures in sledding! Stay warm everyone! ~ Erin

Spencerport High School Senior Pictures: Nikolas

Have no fear: Nikolas rocked his senior session at Durand Eastman Park. He seemed a little nervous at the beginning, but by the end of the session we had him swimming in the lake. So he may have been quiet, but he was also adventurous. We had a lot of fun!

He's a runner and a swimmer for Spencerport High School. With being on the cross-country team, it made sense to photograph him as though he's running a trail in the woods. And to make the session even more exciting, Nikolas was willing to jump in the lake in his swimming gear. I'm guessing it was a little chilly, but he was a trooper!

Thanks for braving the elements with us! Have a great senior year Nikolas! Go Spencerport! ~ Lori & Erin

Brighton High School Senior Portraits: Christine

She's been playing for years, and you can tell. The notes and songs just came from her fingers without the need for sheet music. I felt like I was getting my own personal concert while I photographed Christine, and I didn't want it to stop! She is so incredibly talented, and plans to continue studying music next year.

We met at her house on a gray fall day, but that smile was enough to light up the photographs. Thanks for a very fun and easy going session Christine! We hope you're having a great senior year!

Bill & Stacy: Winter Engagement Session

The whole month of December was unusually warm... except for the one day that Bill and Stacy were in town for their engagement session.

We wandered around High Falls, looking for warmth and great light for photographs. We found at least one of the two easily. With stop in La Luna for a warm up, we all persevered despite frozen fingers, toes and cameras. We even had a little bit of fun too.

I'd like to be cute and say their love kept them warm, but I think it was actually the random jumping jacks and then the beer at the Genesee Brew House.

So excited for their warm, May wedding! Emphasis on "warm"! Check out some of our favorites, and leave Bill and Stacy some love and well wishes too!

Rush Henrietta Senior Portrait, Cobbs Hill Senior Pictures

Tony and Junior (his dachshund) were so easy going, it made for a easy breezy session at Cobbs Hill. No pun intended, although it was really windy up there! We had a great view of the city with the early fall colors. Tony rocked the formal look, and the casual outfit.

And bringing Junior along just made the session complete. There's never a bad time to include your four legged friend in your high school senior pictures. Especially when they give cute kisses like Junior did!

Enjoy the rest of your senior year Tony!

Life, #Lucasp and the end of a 365 Project: Rochester NY Photographer

Not including weddings, sessions and the occasional iPhone image, I have shot over 3000 images this year. And I only you showed roughly 365. And of that 365, most were of my favorite little hashtag, #lucasp.

I've got to be honest, it's been a week since my 365 project ended, and I'm just now starting to get used to life without a camera constantly by my side.

Now that it's over, I'm feeling so many emotions.

In some ways I'm sad. I feel like a major part of my family's life flew by in an instant, and I'm not ready to give it up yet. The good news is, I have documentation of it all... and for better or worse, my son has his own personal hashtag.

I learned a lot from this year - not only about my photography, but about myself as well. I know more about who I am, and who I want to be.

I cherish not only the big milestones, but the every day moments too.  For example - One day, Lucas began using his own silverware. In an instant, he no longer needed my help - it was bittersweet.

No matter how hard we try, we can't stop it, or slow it down. There's no getting those little moments back.

Because of this project, I realize with an even deeper appreciation that these moments are fleeting. Now, I read just one more book at night, so I can cuddle him just a little bit longer. And even though he's getting heavier by the second, when he wants me to pick him up - I do. Because one day he'll stop needing that, too.

For that, I'm so glad I have these photos - to remind me now, and in 15 years of those times when laundry baskets and cardboard boxes were toys, and when his shoes were smaller than mine.

I think that my biggest take away from the project is the ability to really see, and know when even the smallest moment is happening.

I still see my photo of the day - everywhere, in everything. But now, it's up to me whether or not to push the shutter button or just enjoy the moment.

Thank you to everyone who supported me, and to those who, whether they wanted to or not, became part of the project. These images also remind me of the love surrounding us every day, and all of the people who are a part of our lives.  It was a fun, emotional, sometimes frustrating, sometimes overwhelming ride, but definitely a worthwhile journey.

Here's a few of my favorites from the year!  ~ Erin

Brighton High School Senior Photos: Jake

We had lots of possible locations to choose from for Jake's session, but ultimately, Genesee Valley Park  was the clear winner. Surrounded by the waters he frequently rowed as part of the Brighton Crew team, he was right at home.

Oh, and there is that really cool fallen tree that we just had to include! Jake  was up for anything, and the result is some great images! Check them out for yourself.

Another beautiful fall day spent doing what I love. We are so lucky to live in a place with beauty in every season!

Til next time,

Lori

Cobblestone Family Session: Victor NY Portraits

It was the last light of a fall night, but we snuck outside for some fun. Christian showed off his lacrosse skills, while Anna played soccer. And Lucy, she wanted to dance and swing on the playground! This family is so full of energy, it was contagious.

Their perfect Saturday? Sleeping in, making "Uncle Joe's" pancakes, and visiting family at Sylvia Lake in the Adirondacks or on the farm in Ovid, NY.

Check out the December issue of Cobblestone Living Magazine to see them on the glossy pages, or just enjoy the sneak peek below!

Jason and Leah, thank you so much for inviting me into your lives. We hope to see you again soon!

George Eastman Museum Senior Portraits: Abby

Working with Abby at the George Eastman Museum was like a walk in the park, errr, gardens... because it was! Her family has ties to photography and have been members at the Museum. Plus, it's just gorgeous, and so is Abby! We were able to get a good variety of images while enjoying the grounds and the beautiful fall day. Thanks for choosing us, Abby, and best wishes for a great senior year!
