A Rochester Maternity Portrait Session: Rowan & Kevin

I am beyond excited for these two soon-to-be parents! Rowan and Kevin are expecting their first child in October - well, their first two legged child! :)

Kevin is a veterinarian, and we're all dog lovers, so of course we had to include the fur babies. Roxy and Kinsey enjoyed the walk around Linear Park and didn't seem to mind the camera. You'll be seeing more of this family, so stayed tuned to the blog. But for now, enjoy some of their baby bump photos!

Can't wait to meet the new addition!

A Double Family Session in Fairport

How fun is this? Kerry and Katie have been best friends since they were four years old. Now, they each have two kids that are quickly becoming best friends too! We decided to shoot a double session at the local playground so we could get some individual family shots, and some with all of the kids.

These kids are just too cute! We counted pine cones, blew bubbles, walked and played our way around the park. And they are lovers too, they were all about the hugs and kisses. I just can't get enough! Check these cuties out!

I love watching these little ones grow up, and I still can't believe how fast it happens! Looking forward to the next installment!

Maplewood Rose Garden, Cobbs Hill Senior Session

Maddy - seriously with that smile? And those eyes? She's so perfectly adorable and sweet. She describes herself as "Funny, sarcastic, preppy, kind and bubbly." What a great description!

She's super involved too. She's a Varsity Volleyball Captain, Vice President of her Student Council, on the Student Senate, a Camp Counselor and a Youth Ambassador.

Maddy is also willing to go with the flow, which made photographing her senior portraits a breeze. When it started raining, she was willing to play in the rain under an umbrella.

We ended up with a great variety of images - everything from playing in the flowers to singing in the rain. We even got some athletic shots in her volleyball uniform.

Thanks Maddy for a great morning session! Go Brighton Volleyball! ~ Lori & Erin

Midlakes High School Senior Photos: Erin

When Erin wrote to me about taking her senior photos, my first thought was, "No way, she can't be a senior!" After I got over the initial shock, I was so honored she asked me. She and her mom said they chose me after they saw the photos I took of my cousin's wedding, who happens to be their neighbor. She said the photos were so "them", and not contrived or forced. And that's what they wanted, to remember Erin as she is today.

Erin's father works in landscaping, so he selected the perfect house with lots of beautiful options for images. From the front door, to the shed, to the pond, we were not short on locations to choose from!  Erin's beautiful smile and adorable laugh kept the mood light and fun the whole time. Without further ado, here are a few of my favorites from her session. Enjoy!

Family Portraits at Schoen Place

We are so lucky to get to meet such wonderful people in our line of work. This family lives right in my community, but I had not met them until this session. Jill and Kate are sisters, and planned this session as a gift for their mother's birthday. Kate and her family came from Pittsburgh to join the rest of the group for this fun day along the canal.

Of course, Baylor stole the show, as most babies do! We had a lot of fun using the barns and bridges near Schoen Place. I hope you enjoy this little peek!

Thanks for choosing Lori and Erin Photography, we hope to see you all again soon!

Another month in the 365 project! Rochester NY Photographer

The reality that is Fall is finally settling in. I won't lie, I'm not prepared for the chilly nights. September was another month filled with beautiful wedding days, and fun filled times with family and friends. I'm extremely lucky to get to see as many people as I do in one month.

Lucas continues to grow in personality and in size. The toddling around is beginning as of this month. We've been watching him learn to walk, and it is filled with nervous moments and laughter at the same time.

I think that some of my favorite pictures of Lucas to date, were taken this month. For example, his smile on the swings, and splashing in the kiddie pool were two great memories we made this month. He also enjoyed his first of many fried cakes at Schutts, and boy did he enjoy that thoroughly.

Now that Fall is here, it's time to look forward to all the fun that comes along with it. Pumpkins, hayrides, Halloween... oh my, what fun indeed! ~ Erin

Rochester NY High School Senior: Chad

I first photographed Chad on the soccer field, when he was much younger. It's hard for me to believe so much time has passed that now he's in his senior year in high school.

He's taller, and no longer plays soccer - but he's still just as good a kid as he was back then. We photographed his session at one of our more popular locations this year, Linear Park. The variety of backdrops between buildings and nature makes this a well rounded location for a lot of different options.

Thanks for being so easy to work with Chad! Have a great senior year! ~ Erin

Downtown Rochester Senior Portrait Session: Aleigha

People tell her she's got a great smile. We have to agree. She describes herself in five words saying "fun, goofy, kind, helpful, and outgoing." Again, we have to agree.

We began her senior fusion session behind the Anderson Alley building, downtown. It was the perfect place for Aleigha's urban style. There were so many great options to use, it was hard to tear ourselves away and end up at Corbett's Glen.

There, the water was a little chilly, and the mosquitoes were out, but Aleigha was a rockstar. She toughed it out for some seriously gorgeous images.

Aleigha, we had so much fun with you! Enjoy every second of your senior year! ~ Lori & Erin

Lucas turns One! Family Session in Fairport

I now have a one year old. When did that happen? Wasn't I just yesterday wondering if and when he'd ever roll over on his own? And now he's crawling, standing, and starting to talk? Ummm, no.

Now more than ever before, I realize how important my photographs are. After I put Lucas to bed the night before his birthday, I flipped through an album I'd made of images from the past year. I already don't remember what he felt like as a 5 lb newborn, and how tiny he really was as a preemie in my arms. I looked at pictures of his first Halloween, his first Christmas, and the first time he held his own bottle and reminisced on the past year of our lives. Those pictures mean everything to me now.

I'll be honest, I thought the session would be easy. But in true toddler style at a portrait session, Lucas proved me wrong - at first. He was cranky, he didn't want to play in the grass, and he wouldn't smile. So if you think your kids are the only ones who have meltdowns at portrait sessions - think again. Yes, even a photographer's baby has a bad day.

In the end, Lori worked her miracles and Lucas started to have a little more fun. I'm so grateful for her patience. And I love the smiles that eventually came out of my little man, but really, even his "serious" face is adorable. As he grows faster and faster, this one year session taken by Lori will be added to those memories in the ever growing album, and his moments of crankiness will all be forgotten.

Here's the results of our latest family session! ~ Erin

Fairport High School Senior Pictures: Sandya

From the second we starting shooting, Sandya was all smiles and laughs. Her description of herself couldn't be more accurate: energetic, bright, always smiling, and smart.

She's a wonderful senior at Fairport High School, who plans to study chemistry next year. For her senior photos, we started at the Penfield Town Hall where we used a variety of architectural elements. After that, we hit up Webster Park. Sandya is a swimmer, so she wanted to incorporate the water somehow, without actually getting in the pool. Webster Park was the perfect spot for that!

I love what we captured in this session, and Sandya was a blast to work with. Have a great year Sandya!

August's 365 Project: Rochester NY Photography

Wait, did I blink and miss August? It's a good thing for this project, because I barely remember the beginning of last month. We've been busy with sessions, great weddings, and some awesome milestone's for my little man, Lucas.

This month, I traveled to Boston for a wedding. I also spent some time in the woods and "off the grid" camping with my family. It was Lucas's first camping trip, and it was great to spend some time with my family.

But the biggest memories of this month have to come from Lucas. One year ago, he entered our lives and forever changed my world. He celebrated his birthday month by learning not only how to crawl, but how to stand up on his own, say some of his first words. On top of that, he turned one and confirmed that he's definitely my child by diving into a few cupcakes face first.

Yes, the year did go by fast and it was amazing. But there's more amazing still to come, so I'm excited to see what he learns next.

Catch up with my 365 with these fun photos! I can't believe I'm still going strong! ~ Erin

Penfield High School Senior Sessions Katy

Katy has the most wonderful eyes, doesn't she? She's a high school senior at Penfield High School this year. We met up at the park for her session, and like all of our great seniors, she really swung for the fences!

When we asked her to describe herself in five words she said, "easy, a lot of sarcasm".  So clearly, we got along well.

The senior session was definitely very easy going, and we got some fantastic shots.

Here are a few of my favorites! Enjoy!
