Benjamin, Tyler, and Carter are three amazing, energetic young brothers. They have a fun backyard with a play set, pool, and room to run too! I had a blast chasing them around for this casual portrait session. Mom and Dad were great as well, and we got some portraits of the two of them while the boys enjoyed their treats. I can't wait to watch these boys grow, and see what shenanigans we can get into next year! Enjoy! -Lori
A Working Vacation in Boston & Cape Cod
This past summer, my husband and I had the opportunity to take a long weekend to Massachusettes to visit family, photograph a few sessions and spend some time on the beach. The trip was much to short, but lots of fun! We stopped in Boston first for a two part family session starting at the Boston Commons. As we walked in, we saw a man drop to a knee and propose to his girlfriend right in front of us. I looked around and sure enough, there was a photographer not far away documenting it! That was a first. Then we turned our focus to Ciaran, who wasn't quite ready to model, until a passing dog put a big smile on his face. The next day, we finished the session at a stunning Horticultural Center with acres of beautiful flowers and manicured grounds.
Before leaving Boston, we also took a few business headshots for Mulrooney a+d. This architectural firm wanted something a little non-traditional for their portraits, and of course, we had to include some architectural elements in the images. I love how these turned out. Check out more of their work at mulrooneyad.com.
For part two, we drove out to Cape Cod to photograph another wonderful family. We saw a few sprinkles, but the kids didn't seem to mind one bit. Ronan enjoyed running everywhere, while Caitrin was 100% smiles. We had some really nice locations to work with, and ended up at the beach. We took a few family shots, then it was time to enjoy the water. Aside from the seagull who decided my lunch looked tasty, we had a great afternoon!
It was a bit of a whirlwind trip, but so worth it to spend time with such great people. I hope this becomes a tradition! Thanks for inviting us guys! Lori
Pittsford Maternity Sessions
Shortly before my maternity leave began early, I photographed the most wonderful family / maternity session. This family is near and dear to my heart, and has grown by two! We photographed the session before their twins arrived, so now their family photograph looks quite a bit different, and even more wonderful. When I posted the sneak peek, I remember feeling in awe of Tiffany. Pregnant with my first child, I couldn't fathom how she kept it all together. Two beautiful boys, pregnant with twins and going at full speed as much as she could.
Her twins have finally arrived, and so has my little one. As I sit here writing this blog while simultaneously rocking my son to sleep, I'm still inspired as she seems to get it all done.
For now, I'm excited to share these images from their last family session as a family of four. And I look forward to the day when I can photograph them as a family of six! :)

A big family, mini session: Fairport NY Family Portraits
Something you may not know: We offer mini sessions, and they've been quite popular with some of our big families. This family assembled in Rochester from several different states, and wanted to capture the entire family in one photograph. They were celebrating the 70th birthday of Max, the patriarch of the family. Hence, the matching t-shirts! Their goal was one photograph with all of them in it. We created a few different options in the short time we had with them. Here's a quick look!
Happy Birthday Max! I hope you all enjoyed your time in Rochester!

Rochester NY Maternity Session at Eastman Museum
I really can't believe it's been four years since I photographed Janel and Kevin's beautiful wedding day. They are another one of our couples who hold a super special place in our heart for their constant support as our business has grown. It was fun to talk "baby" together as we photographed their maternity session at the George Eastman House last month. I can't wait to share and compare stories with them as we capture the first year of their little man's life!
Janel, and Kevin - it's been an honor and a privelege to know you, and now to be a part of documenting your growing family. Thank you!! Rest up now (believe me, you'll miss it), and get ready to welcome your bundle of joy into the family. I'm sooooo happy for you, and can't wait to meet him! ~ Erin
Morgan's 9 Month Portraits | Rochester NY Family Photography
Does this girl just keep getting cuter? I think so! If you've been following the blog, you've met Morgan before. This session was to celebrate her at 9 months. We started at home with the dogs, and then headed out to a relatives house for some shots with the pond and barn. It was an incredible location, and Morgan rocked it with her numerable adorable outfits!
Can't wait for our next installment in the first year program. Stay tuned! Lori
Highland Park Family Portraits in Summer
6 years and two children later, this beautiful family holds a special place in my heart. To this day, I still have the thank you card on my bulletin board that they wrote to me after their wedding. I've kept it all of these years as a reminder of when I was just starting out. It's great couples like Dana and Michel that helped me grow. Their trust and continued support truly means the world to me as we continue to grow. I'm so incredibly thankful for them. On top of that, they make adorable children and are so much fun to work with. We picked the perfect afternoon to play in the park together. Check out their cuteness - I just love all of their faces and can't wait to see them again! ~ Erin
Family Pictures at the Eastman House Gardens
Meet Liam and his parents. We hit up the Eastman House gardens to celebrate Liam at 9 months. He is standing and leaning like a big boy, and oh so handsome! He was a trooper through the heat and and a few outfit changes, and loved showing off his crawling skills at the end of the session. The Eastman House was a perfect backdrop for this wonderful family's portraits. I hope you enjoy this little man's smiles like I do!
Until next time, Lori
Family Pictures at the Park: Fairport NY Portrait Sessions
There's nothing like coming home for a visit, especially when a stop in at Abbott's is involved. These guys traveled from Oklahoma for a visit with Nonny - and I was excited when they got in touch with us to have a little fun with them while they were here. We hit up Perinton Park in Fairport, where tree climbing and a little goofiness quickly ensued. Some of those goofy images are my favorites from the day. They show their personalities and having some fun together. These guys were pros at taking great portraits, and had fun too! Mom - I think they earned their ice cream...
It was a beautiful afternoon at the park, and great to visit with them, even if it was for a short time! ~ Erin
Extended Family Portraits | Rochester NY Photographers
We've come across a bit of a trend lately. Many of our family portraits have been of families coming into town for an exciting occasion. For this family, it was for their parents' (or grandparents' in some cases) 50th wedding anniversary and the party that went with it. What a treat for them to have their whole family in one place at the same time! It was the perfect night for portraits. We had fun working with everyone, capturing everything from a big group family photograph to individual images of each of the kids, and also some goofy, fun photographs with each family.
Enjoy this peek at a few of our favorites! ~ Erin
Big family portraits: Pittsford NY family sessions
21 family members, all in together in town for a brief moment in time. What a great idea to get one big family portrait! We're so glad they called us to capture them all together, and some separate family shots. It may have been a short session, but it really went off without a hitch. And on top of that, we had time for a little silliness with the kids too! What fun!
Until next time! - Erin
Family fun at the cottage! Lake Ontario Family Portraits
The Fourth of July is a time for vacations, family, and fun. Years ago, this family's story originated here in Brockport, NY. As they grew up and started their own families, they moved to other areas of the United States. That's what makes this session so special. They all came back home with their kids, to vacation together over the holiday at their parents cottage, on the shores of Lake Ontario. Naturally with everyone home, it was also the perfect time to capture their family portrait!
It was definitely not an easy feat to get 5 children and 8 adults, in one family photograph together - but we made it happen, and we're so glad we were able to do this for such a wonderful, growing family.
Here's a few from the fun we had - enjoy! ~ Erin
