Giving Back: Magic Hour Foundation

Most of you know, I have an active role with the American Cancer Society's, Relay for Life in Fairport. I love giving back, and this is a cause that really means a lot to me.

So when I found the Magic Hour Foundation I immediately signed up to help.

Magic Hour is a national network of photographers who are looking to give back to individuals and families fighting cancer. They coordinate photo sessions to celebrate the truly important things in life through photography - each other. It's a way for families to feel strong together, and to have support.

I have yet to be asked to photograph a session for them yet, but I'm really looking forward to the opportunity. Which leads me to you. I'm asking for your help. With amazing research and treatment centers right in our own backyard - there are so many that could benefit from one of these sessions in our area.

So what I'm asking you to do, is to spread the word. Encourage a loved one with cancer to apply for a portrait session, or send them to us and we can help them through the process. If you're a professional photographer - we also encourage you to get involved as well if you feel pulled to do so.

What we do, is a gift that allows people to relive happy times - whether in times of sadness or happiness. Help us give that gift to those fighting their cancer battle.
