Victor NY Family Portraits: Cinderella and family

2015-03-24_0002.jpg

When I walked in the house, Dad jokingly asked me if I knew about his illustrious modeling career with L.L. Bean. I knew right then that this family was going to be a lot of fun. Parents, grandparents, 3 great kids, and 2 dogs kept me laughing the entire session.

Lucy, the youngest in the family was the star of this show in her Cinderella dress - and why not? She fit the color palette perfectly, and got to show off her own personality at the same time!

What a fun session! I can’t wait to visit them again this summer for more great portraits! ~ Erin

Rochester NY newborn photography: Introducing L

2015-03-24_00091.jpg

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I truly love our clients. But really, they're not clients anymore. After five years, an engagement, wedding, and two children with multiple family sessions in between - they are friends, amazing ones at that. So photographing baby Lauren with her big sister Katie was a joy. We got to capture just a glimpse of them forming their early bonds as sisters. And I got to catch up with their amazing mommy as well.

I'll never cease to be grateful for the trust that this family gives us, and for continuing to allow us to be a part of their lives as more than just their photographers.

With that, I'm honored to introduce, and welcome Lauren to the world. ~ Erin

Rochester NY Family Photos: Ben, Tori and Family

I just love the energy that children have. Tori has grown so much since the last time I saw her. She is now running around, dancing, combing her hair, and basically ignoring her little brother. He didn't seem to mind though. He loved playing with his own toys, looking at himself in the mirror and snuggling with the fam. It's always such a pleasure to photograph these two cuties, and their parents, too! Here are a few of my favorites.-Lori

365 project in March : Rochester NY Photographer

2015-04-01_0001.jpg

I love compiling my images from each month for these posts. I get to see just how many things happened each month and how many great people are a part of my life. I also get to see just how much Lucas changes in just a few weeks. That alone makes me so glad I decided to take on a 365 project this year. I can't imagine not having these images to remember all of his milestones. Family, friends and fun was what March was all about. With Spring creeping in at a snail's pace, we were lucky to get outside a few times. We are also starting to see more sessions pop up on the calendar with our favorite clients. We even got away for a conference in Buffalo, where we got to learn new things to incorporate into the business and our shooting style.

So far so good, I'm still going strong. With our busiest months of the year yet to come, I'm looking forward to more friends and more fun images to share as a part of this project. 3 months down, 9 to go! ~ Erin

Rush Henrietta Senior Portraits: Rebecca

Rebecca is a cross-country runner. We met up for her portraits at Genesee Valley Park just a day or two before a big race there. It was a cool location as it is somewhere she frequents for competition, but there is also a wide variety of backdrops without having to go very far. We used a bridge, the Roundhouse Gazebo, a pavilion and just open space as well. Rebecca was a true star; look at that gorgeous long hair! Jealous! It was a pleasure photographing you Rebecca, enjoy the rest of your year!

Cobblestone Family Portraits | Victor NY

blog_03021.jpg

I met Susan and John a few months ago when I photographed them for their feature in Cobblestone Living magazine. I was so happy to return in December and get to meet all five of their kids while they were home for the holidays. This was a pretty quick session, as some had to leave for a long drive home right after, but we got some good images before they had to go. We also got to celebrate one son and his fiancé on their engagement!

And of course, what's a family session without the family pets! With us, it's pretty much mandatory to include your dogs if you have them.

Penfield NY Family Portraits at Home

The last time they had a family portrait, the kids were in middle school. Yup, they were definitely due for an update! It was my pleasure to photograph this wonderful family and capture the unique relationships within. From parent to child, or sibling to sibling or even dog to owners. Yes, their dog Brock completely stole the show with his adorableness.

The whole family was so laid back, it made for such a fun afternoon!

Enjoy! Lori

High School Senior Athletes in Senior Pictures | Rochester NY Senior Photographers

blog_0357.jpg

No matter your passion, we love including it! Last year, we had the privilege of photographing many high school athletes from a variety of schools and sports. Whether it was Track, Soccer, Hockey, Golf, Swimming, Softball, Volleyball, Fishing, Skiing, Snowboarding, Crew or Kickboxing-- we got it all! It was so much fun getting on the ice, in the pool and on the river. We had some action shots on the soccer field, and (at the time) wished for snow for skiers and snow boarders. We tossed around a softball, took some swings at golf and volleyball, and I learned a few new kick boxing moves! All in a days work.

February in Pictures: Erin's 365

2015-02-27_0005.jpg

2 months down! Yes! I've been at my 365 project now for 2 months. It's obvious, that I've taken on a theme, a very "close to my heart" theme. My son is the inspiration for this project. I want to capture as much of this first year of his life as I can! He'll change so much this year - heck, he already has, and astonishes me.

So, naturally many of my pictures revolve around him and will continue to do so. This month, Lucas hit the "half" year mark. I'm trying to capture what he's learning, the funny and sometimes frustrating moments, and the relationships he's building with the world and people in his life. I want to remember all of these little daily milestones that are forming him into the person he's becoming.

Also this month, Nigel the Gnome returned! After Lori left on her trip, I started to feel lonely - so Nigel kept me company during my days. I'm looking forward to seeing where he ends up during my 365 project.

Valentine's Day was a part of this month's images and as we all know, the deep freeze of a winter we're having continued to tortured us.  So that had to be included somehow too!

Enjoy my recap in photos!

~ Erin

Extended Family Portraits | Fairport NY

We were fortunate to be there to witness and capture the wedding day of Judith and Paul back in March of 2014. This time around, Paul wanted to share a gift with his two daughters.  It's our pleasure now to introduce you to the rest of the family. It was fun, and sometimes a little crazy, with everyone comes home for the holiday. I'm sure that they wouldn't have had it any other way. Heading into this session, we had been warned. We had a feeling that our magical powers of child persuasion might not cut it with a toddler who was enamored with Hello Kitty. We were warned, and they were right - there was no changing the pajamas for the photographs. But as always, we adapted to the situation and captured the moments as they happened.

Is it the perfect L.L. Bean holiday portrait? Not necessarily. But honestly, sometimes you just have to take the family portrait in Hello Kitty pajamas. And that's ok - it's real life, and we love it.

Seniors Pictures with Pets | Rochester NY Senior Photographs

blog_0346.jpg

Senior year is a pivotal time in life, and we try to capture the personality of our seniors in this moment. What are they into, and what do they love? For many, it's a no brainer to include their furry family in these portraits. You never forget your first pet. Or your second, or third, or any of them. Our pets are our family, and we love them like family. As a dog lover myself, I love incorporating pets into sessions whenever possible. Here are a few students from the Class of 2015 who did just that!
