Jameson, 6 Months New: Rochester Family Sessions

Jameson is 6 months old, he loves chewing on toys (especially Sophie the Giraffe), and bouncing around in his jumperoo. We also learned he loves the freedom of his birthday suit at this session.

Oh that face. It melts my heart. I mean really, just look at that grin, and those eyes. How can you resist?! He's such a cute little peanut. We can't wait to see him again in a few months! ~ Erin

Lucas at 7 months old: rochester ny photographers

2015-04-09_0002.jpg

Most people have their infants photographed two, maybe three times in the first year of their lives. Not me. Thanks to my 365 project, and just generally being me, I have had more "sessions" with Lucas than I can count on both hands. The images I take of Lucas are beautiful to me, and I love taking them. However, I'm always the one behind the camera, and it was time to be a part of the action with my family. I cannot even begin to tell you how important it is to me to have photographs of not just Lucas - but Lucas with me and his daddy.

Enter, Lori. I'm so lucky to not only be able to work with her, but have her there to capture my family and our relationships as well. And because she knows me so well, she knew exactly what I was looking for with our last family session. She knew how I wanted to look, and how best to accomplish the task.

So here's my PSA for today:  Moms, be in the pictures. I don't care if you think you look fat, and I don't care if you think you have bags under your eyes.  These photographs are SO important. Find a photographer who makes you feel comfortable, and knows what you want photographed. Don't stand behind the camera. Your kids will thank you someday. Please, just do it for them.

End PSA. Now back to your regularly scheduled cuteness.

It's no secret that I have one of the cutest babies on the planet... biased much? Yes, yes I am. Here's a glimpse into our session! Thank you, Lori, for being awesome!

Victor NY Family Portraits: Cinderella and family

2015-03-24_0002.jpg

When I walked in the house, Dad jokingly asked me if I knew about his illustrious modeling career with L.L. Bean. I knew right then that this family was going to be a lot of fun. Parents, grandparents, 3 great kids, and 2 dogs kept me laughing the entire session.

Lucy, the youngest in the family was the star of this show in her Cinderella dress - and why not? She fit the color palette perfectly, and got to show off her own personality at the same time!

What a fun session! I can’t wait to visit them again this summer for more great portraits! ~ Erin

Rochester NY newborn photography: Introducing L

2015-03-24_00091.jpg

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I truly love our clients. But really, they're not clients anymore. After five years, an engagement, wedding, and two children with multiple family sessions in between - they are friends, amazing ones at that. So photographing baby Lauren with her big sister Katie was a joy. We got to capture just a glimpse of them forming their early bonds as sisters. And I got to catch up with their amazing mommy as well.

I'll never cease to be grateful for the trust that this family gives us, and for continuing to allow us to be a part of their lives as more than just their photographers.

With that, I'm honored to introduce, and welcome Lauren to the world. ~ Erin

Rochester NY Family Photos: Ben, Tori and Family

I just love the energy that children have. Tori has grown so much since the last time I saw her. She is now running around, dancing, combing her hair, and basically ignoring her little brother. He didn't seem to mind though. He loved playing with his own toys, looking at himself in the mirror and snuggling with the fam. It's always such a pleasure to photograph these two cuties, and their parents, too! Here are a few of my favorites.-Lori

Cobblestone Family Portraits | Victor NY

blog_03021.jpg

I met Susan and John a few months ago when I photographed them for their feature in Cobblestone Living magazine. I was so happy to return in December and get to meet all five of their kids while they were home for the holidays. This was a pretty quick session, as some had to leave for a long drive home right after, but we got some good images before they had to go. We also got to celebrate one son and his fiancé on their engagement!

And of course, what's a family session without the family pets! With us, it's pretty much mandatory to include your dogs if you have them.

Penfield NY Family Portraits at Home

The last time they had a family portrait, the kids were in middle school. Yup, they were definitely due for an update! It was my pleasure to photograph this wonderful family and capture the unique relationships within. From parent to child, or sibling to sibling or even dog to owners. Yes, their dog Brock completely stole the show with his adorableness.

The whole family was so laid back, it made for such a fun afternoon!

Enjoy! Lori

Extended Family Portraits | Fairport NY

We were fortunate to be there to witness and capture the wedding day of Judith and Paul back in March of 2014. This time around, Paul wanted to share a gift with his two daughters.  It's our pleasure now to introduce you to the rest of the family. It was fun, and sometimes a little crazy, with everyone comes home for the holiday. I'm sure that they wouldn't have had it any other way. Heading into this session, we had been warned. We had a feeling that our magical powers of child persuasion might not cut it with a toddler who was enamored with Hello Kitty. We were warned, and they were right - there was no changing the pajamas for the photographs. But as always, we adapted to the situation and captured the moments as they happened.

Is it the perfect L.L. Bean holiday portrait? Not necessarily. But honestly, sometimes you just have to take the family portrait in Hello Kitty pajamas. And that's ok - it's real life, and we love it.

Rochester NY Family Portraits: Welcome Baby N

First - there was M, she's a sweet, funny and beautiful little girl. Now, we welcome her little sister, Nora! Molly is so cute with her, giving her the sweetest kisses, and "helping" Mommy and Daddy with feedings and diaper changes. It's pretty darn adorable. I spent a little bit of time with them, not only capturing Nora in this first tiny stage of life, but updating Molly's portraits too. We're so excited to welcome her into the family. She's the perfect cherry on top of an already awesome ice cream sundae. Enjoy the sibling sweetness, and congratulations to M and family! ~ Erin

This was not my first time photographing Emily and her family, and hopefully it's not my last either! It was my first time meeting some of the extended family however, which was great! It's wonderful to not only capture Emily's relationship with her immediate family, but her grandparents as well. Emily loved her doggy, bubbles, and her big sister Michelle. And isn't she just perfect in that sari? Oh man, that's adorable.

Unfortunately, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, as she did not want to sit with grandpa. But that happens sometimes, and it's ok. It makes for one of those classic photos that will be laughed at when she is a little older! :) Love it. Enjoy! Lori

Christmas Family Pictures | Fairport NY Family Photographer

Stella and Liam are some lucky kids, and I am the lucky photographer who gets to hang out with them every year! When I first arrived, they were a little shy, but once they got to show me their play room, they opened right up. We had fun on the rocking horse, drawing on the white board and playing with mom and dad too.

Liam is just so handsome, and Stella has such a strength about her. This is my favorite type of session, it's one where I get to play and capture kids in their natural happy places. And the images looked great on their Christmas cards too! Enjoy, Lori
