Rochester NY Family Photos: Ben, Tori and Family

I just love the energy that children have. Tori has grown so much since the last time I saw her. She is now running around, dancing, combing her hair, and basically ignoring her little brother. He didn't seem to mind though. He loved playing with his own toys, looking at himself in the mirror and snuggling with the fam. It's always such a pleasure to photograph these two cuties, and their parents, too! Here are a few of my favorites.-Lori

Cobblestone Family Portraits | Victor NY

blog_03021.jpg

I met Susan and John a few months ago when I photographed them for their feature in Cobblestone Living magazine. I was so happy to return in December and get to meet all five of their kids while they were home for the holidays. This was a pretty quick session, as some had to leave for a long drive home right after, but we got some good images before they had to go. We also got to celebrate one son and his fiancé on their engagement!

And of course, what's a family session without the family pets! With us, it's pretty much mandatory to include your dogs if you have them.

Enjoy! Lori

Penfield NY Family Portraits at Home

The last time they had a family portrait, the kids were in middle school. Yup, they were definitely due for an update! It was my pleasure to photograph this wonderful family and capture the unique relationships within. From parent to child, or sibling to sibling or even dog to owners. Yes, their dog Brock completely stole the show with his adorableness.

The whole family was so laid back, it made for such a fun afternoon!

Enjoy! Lori

Extended Family Portraits | Fairport NY

We were fortunate to be there to witness and capture the wedding day of Judith and Paul back in March of 2014. This time around, Paul wanted to share a gift with his two daughters.  It's our pleasure now to introduce you to the rest of the family. It was fun, and sometimes a little crazy, with everyone comes home for the holiday. I'm sure that they wouldn't have had it any other way. Heading into this session, we had been warned. We had a feeling that our magical powers of child persuasion might not cut it with a toddler who was enamored with Hello Kitty. We were warned, and they were right - there was no changing the pajamas for the photographs. But as always, we adapted to the situation and captured the moments as they happened.

Is it the perfect L.L. Bean holiday portrait? Not necessarily. But honestly, sometimes you just have to take the family portrait in Hello Kitty pajamas. And that's ok - it's real life, and we love it.

Rochester NY Family Portraits: Welcome Baby N

First - there was M, she's a sweet, funny and beautiful little girl. Now, we welcome her little sister, Nora! Molly is so cute with her, giving her the sweetest kisses, and "helping" Mommy and Daddy with feedings and diaper changes. It's pretty darn adorable. I spent a little bit of time with them, not only capturing Nora in this first tiny stage of life, but updating Molly's portraits too. We're so excited to welcome her into the family. She's the perfect cherry on top of an already awesome ice cream sundae. Enjoy the sibling sweetness, and congratulations to M and family! ~ Erin

This was not my first time photographing Emily and her family, and hopefully it's not my last either! It was my first time meeting some of the extended family however, which was great! It's wonderful to not only capture Emily's relationship with her immediate family, but her grandparents as well. Emily loved her doggy, bubbles, and her big sister Michelle. And isn't she just perfect in that sari? Oh man, that's adorable.

Unfortunately, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, as she did not want to sit with grandpa. But that happens sometimes, and it's ok. It makes for one of those classic photos that will be laughed at when she is a little older! :) Love it. Enjoy! Lori

Christmas Family Pictures | Fairport NY Family Photographer

Stella and Liam are some lucky kids, and I am the lucky photographer who gets to hang out with them every year! When I first arrived, they were a little shy, but once they got to show me their play room, they opened right up. We had fun on the rocking horse, drawing on the white board and playing with mom and dad too.

Liam is just so handsome, and Stella has such a strength about her. This is my favorite type of session, it's one where I get to play and capture kids in their natural happy places. And the images looked great on their Christmas cards too! Enjoy, Lori

Family Portraits in Pittsford NY: Morgan is 1!

It's been so much fun celebrating this whole year with Morgan. I loved watching her grow, explore and seeing all of her adorable outfits! We finished up the year with her one year session. It involved some balloons we weren't sure about, a hat we didn't want to wear, and some crazy, fun family members singing to us! She did love reading her books and looking out the window. I love this behind the scenes shot of mom changing her while dad feeds her. It really shows the teamwork involved with raising a child. Love it! Enjoy these, and check back for a full year recap coming soon! Lori

Home for the Holidays: Family Portraits Rochester, NY

blog_0294.jpg

When a family comes together, it's always a special time. This big family was home for an early Thanksgiving gathering. We spent a few hours with them capturing everything from toddlers running around everywhere, to cute family moments. It was a bit crazy to keep the kids still for this big family photograph, but we got one before they scattered! What a fun challenge! We love catching all of these moments and times together at the holidays. Have a peek at the fun and a little bit of crazy that we enjoyed with this family! ~ Erin

We Wish You a Merry Christmas: Rochester NY Photographers

2014-12-22_0003.jpg

I've always loved Christmas, it's a wonderful time of the year.  I'm the one who puts up the Christmas decorations as soon as Santa arrives at the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. My husband laughs at me, then plays along - because, if I only get to enjoy them for one month, he knows I want every possible second of that month. To me Christmas is family, friends and an overwhelming spirit of love. Now that Lucas is here, I get to share in a whole new kind of love. I'm so very blessed. I could go on to tell you all of the ways I'm blessed, but I've been told I keep making people cry with my blog posts. So for their sake, I'm going to keep things on the lighter side today.

At the ripe old age of four months, Lucas has been photographed by no less than 3 professional photographers - not including myself. I have more photographs of him in four months, than I have taken personally in an entire year. Poor kid, he has no idea who he's dealing with yet. There have been a few moments where he's told me subtly what he thinks of me, my ideas and my camera. For example, his expression with Santa for the first time was priceless, and then "accidentally" giving me the bird while I photographed a mini Christmas session in his adorable knit hat. Yep... that's my boy! Regardless, so far I'd say he's handling it quite nicely.

No Christmas card picture is perfect. We should know. It may have taken you 23 tries to get your 2 year old to stop picking his nose. Or maybe, when your daughter saw Santa, she had the most epic meltdown in the history of meltdowns.  But on Christmas Day in 20 years, you'll remember those moments and laugh, as you show your child's significant other "that time" when he gave the camera the middle finger. I know I sure will.

Merry Christmas to you and many blessings to all those you hold dear.

Peace, love, and joy - Erin  :)

Jameson: Rochester NY Newborn Session

George Eastman House,Maternity Session,Portrait Session,Rochester NY Family Portraits,

When we last saw them, Janel and Kevin were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their little man. We took their last portraits as a family of two, and as we did I learned a secret. They shared with us their little guy's name via sign. It was adorable. I know it kept a lot of their friends in suspense too. Well, here it is - the big name reveal. :) If you haven't already met him, meet Jameson John. He's a 7 lb cutie, with the best little face and was absolutely perfect for us during his newborn session. With my own little guy growing so fast, it was a reminder of how small they start out!

Kevin and Janel, I have loved watching your journey from engaged to married to now parenthood. There's no doubt in my mind that you'll be amazing parents, as you already are! Congratulations - I look foward to continuing to capture this chapter in your lives for you. ~ Erin

Fall Family Portraits | Victor NY

It's been such a pleasure getting to know Jodi, Deb, Matt, Josh and Ally! Earlier this summer, we photographed Matt's high school senior session and then in October, the whole family together. We really believe it's important to get family photos done, even when your family reaches high school and beyond! They have an incredible yard, so we stayed around the house for these fall portraits. We even got the cat, Smudgie, in a few of the shots! It was a nice morning, even though it did sprinkle on us a little. They were brave and stuck it out and we came away with some really great images.

Do you recognize anyone? You can see more of Matt in his senior photos here. Til next time! -Lori
