The title really says it all - they're fun to be around, loving, and pretty darn adorable... and that is just the kids. Oh what the hey, Mom and Dad aren't bad either. I don't get to see these guys that often, but I love them all to pieces. While they were in town for a family birthday party, we had the chance to get their yearly family portrait in. I love doing this every year for them, because I get to document their family as they grow together. I love it, and them, so much. Baby Pictures at Home in Fairport NY

We cherish every person that steps or crawls in front of our lenses. Some are family members, some are friends, some are soon to be friends, but they are all special to us. Little E is no exception, and I am super excited to share a little of her story with you! I met E's parents about 2 years ago while they were in the adoption process. Throughout that time I met with them several times and enjoyed getting to know them. I always told them I couldn't wait to photograph their new family, and when I saw their name on the caller ID, I got excited! E is one lucky little girl and couldn't have found a better home. She has two older siblings to learn from and will be surrounded by love from every angle.

We were there when she was a newborn. Then, we saw her again at 4 months. Now, I can't believe it, but we're on her 8 month session of her First Year Plan. She's such a cute and happy little girl. She was so playful and full of smiles for us last week. It's so much fun to watch her grow, and to catch up with her mommy and daddy. You just can't help but fall in love with her smile. I mean, really...just look at this cuteness.

Before we know it, we'll be photographing her one year session. Then two, three, four...and well, you get the idea. However, I'm pretty sure her family would agree - let's not rush things, stay little as long as you can Miss Katie!

Clara at 9 months - Onondaga Park, Syracuse NY

The last time I saw Clara, she was 6 months old and we were celebrating her accomplishment of sitting up. She is growing so fast! Now, she is 9 months old and standing! It doesn't get any sweeter than this. We hung out under the willow trees at Onondaga Park in Syracuse to create and capture some 9 month memories. Take a peek at some of this session's highlights, and check back in another 3 months as we complete the one year plan!

Kerry is a master baby carrier and is very skilled at using wraps to carry Clara around. Clara seems to enjoy the ride as well!

From Wisconsin to Fairport NY, there is nothing like being together with your family. We had three generations at this backyard gathering, and Erin and I were glad to capture it for them. Everyone was so friendly and easy going, even with the imminent threat of rain. We were lucky and it held off just long enough for our session. I loved being able to incorporate grandma and grandpa's beautiful garden into the photographs as well. Even Jorja, the family dog was great at sitting for the photos!

We really enjoy meeting people and photographing them in their environment. Such a rewarding experience, and now I know more of my neighbors! Have a great summer guys!

We have one more awesome session to blog from our time spent in the Thousand Islands. You may have seen our recent blog post about Jessica & Keith's engagement session. Well, way back in our planning stages for this trip, Jessica mentioned that it had been a verrrrry long time since her family had last had portraits taken. They were all coming to the river this particular weekend, so we set up a family session for them as well! It was easy to see that this family is close, and that each of them have fond memories and a love for being in the Thousand Islands. In between the ribbing they gave each other, we photographed them as a family – in a place that holds special meaning to all of them. 

Landon: 1 year old and family portraits

This past year has been a little more awesome. Why you ask?  It's because Landon has been in our lives! He is such a happy big boy, full of smiles and laughs. He loves to play with his doggies, drums and of course, Mickey Mouse! He has even started to take a few steps and any day now is going to be walking. I can't even believe this little man. We got to hang out while we were up on the St. Lawrence River in the Thousands Islands, so of course we had to get some shots in his swim trunks!

7 Month Old Baby Portraits: rochester ny portrait photography

Lori and I are very lucky to be a part of a special group of friends. We grew together out of a love for photography, and often times a love for a bottle of wine amongst girls. They keep us motivated, laughing, and always dreaming big. We are so thankful to have them in our lives. One of our girls, Kathy, welcomed a new baby boy into her family 7 months ago. Recently, Lori & I stopped by to play. I say "play" because each time we have a portrait session for a baby, we end up laughing, playing and sometimes cuddling. Frankly, we never pass up an opportunity to play! On top of that, getting to be a part of this family's life means the world to us.

I love this age so much, they're always watching and learning from the people around them. So when we went to visit, he was all smiles and very talkative! He tried to copy all of our funny noises and laughed at our silly faces.

Mini-Sessions Photography: 6 month old pictures

I think 6 months just became my favorite milestone in the baby steps plan. This is the age when babies are usually starting to sit on their own, they are full of expressions and are just a whole lot of fun! While Clara is no stranger to my camera, this was the first time I got to work with Paulie. The first of many I hope! Have you seen this stud muffin? Watch out ladies... While we had hoped to be outside for these mini sessions, the day proved to be a little to cold for that. We ended up inside at the Barnes Hiscock Mansion in Syracuse, NY. The home is beautiful with lots of great spaces we were able to utilize. The staff was wonderful to work with as well. If you are in the area, I definitely suggest checking it out!

Extended Family Pictures: Rochester NY in home family portrait session

We last saw these guys in the fall at the wedding of Bri and Anthony. The littlest one here was still in the oven at that time, and his big brother was the ring bearer. My how much changes in just a few months! It was so nice to catch up with these guys and capture a whole new chapter in their family's life. We got the whole group together for a group photograph, and then spent a lot of time with the three littlest. It took some coaxing to get these adorable expressions from these cute cousins, but we all agree, it was worth it.

Spring Family Portraits at Lamberton Conservatory

The calendar says spring, but the weather clearly has other plans for us lately. Lucky for us, we have a local indoor alternative at the conservatory for some cute family portraits! This family has a special place in my heart. You see, almost four years ago, this family was just an engaged couple. They were the first to hire me as a wedding photographer. They gave me a chance and a start on the path my life has now taken. For that, I couldn't be more thankful to them.

Now, they are a family, and I was so excited to get to see them again, and meet their little girl for the first time. She jumped around, played and scouted out turtles in the conservatory – it was a blast! I can't wait to watch their family continue to grow.
