Capturing an Extended Family Portrait at Genesee Valley Club

Last June, I had the pleasure of donating a family portrait session to Lucas's school staff appreciation luncheon. It was my way of giving back to a community that has played such a significant role in my son's growth. As Lucas nears the end of his elementary school journey, I’m still in denial that this chapter is coming to a close, but what better way to honor this time than by helping a family create lasting memories?

The family that won the portrait session couldn’t have been more wonderful. We met at the beautiful Genesee Valley Club in Rochester, NY—an ideal setting with its timeless architecture and lush surroundings. Photographing extended families is always special, and this session felt even more meaningful knowing it stemmed from an event that celebrated the educators and staff who’ve shaped Lucas’s early school years.

As a photographer, I always seek to capture the genuine connection between family members, and this session was no exception. The warmth and love between them shone through in every shot. I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back, and even more thankful for the memories we created together at this beautiful portrait location in Rochester NY.

Here’s to new beginnings for Lucas and to the power of community!
